The Doorbell Rang
6 table
This week we are learning the six table. Every week we have been using School House Rock to help us study. The more you watch, the more the facts will be stuck in your head!

January
The past two weeks have been busy! We are in full swing with math stations. During this time, we are rotating through activities that spiral content, solidify skills from teacher lessons, and working in a small group with me. This is one of my favorite times in the day! Some of the stations from the past few weeks have included drawing arrays, playing multiples games, and working with multiplication and division word problems. We worked to create arrays to find the perfect new candy bar creation.
This month our good character word is courage. As the Wizard of Oz is one of my favorites we discussed how the lion changes to develop courage. We created our own "badges of courage" using things from our lives.
Next week we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. At school we discussed the importance of his famous speech and how he changed the world. We even came up with our own dreams.
We will continue to explore nonfiction text features and create our own books using the iPads. Stay tuned!

Nonfiction Cereal Box Book Report!
This month our reading strategy is all about nonfiction! To go along with our unit, we will be reading a nonfiction book of choice. Project directions can be found under the "project" tab. Here are a few examples from last year!
